Just a update with the Dress for success filming, We just finished filming last week Wednesday and it went well, I was the camera man and Luan was the Director, Mihi was the Producer, Junior was the camera assist and Krystal been one of the main Actress. Luan you did a great job directing and there was moments you look like you were starting to stress out but held your composer. Mihi you also did well as a producer making sure that you got a hold of everyone and that everything ran smoothly and you helping out with the set up keep it up the good work. Junior you were awesome as a assistance just helping out where you can and giving some advice on certain shot angles. At the moment we are at the stage of editing the filming that we did so looking forward to the end result..
Hi everyone sorry its been awhile since I’ve updated my blog just been really business with a lot of projects at the moment.
where do I start? Well I have already started Radio Announcing. My day on Radio is Wednesday at 10- 11:30am on 107.3FM so if you can tune in please do and let me know what your thoughts are on how I am doing? This Wednesday my genre was old school hip hop, I really enjoyed researching this genre and I am looking forward to doing more genre in the future but for the mean time I am learning a lot about Radio. Also we have a Television commercial(TVC) to shot next week for “Dress For Success” my role in this TVC is the Cameraman and Luan is the Director, Mihi is the Production Manager, Junior is the Editor and Camera Assist and finally Krystal is the Production Assist, At the Moment we are going through the Pre-Production stage and that is writing up scripts, storyboard, shot lists, its looking good so far.
Yesterday our class find out who won the Television Commercial Competition and i want to congratulate Luan on winning this competition, well done Luan! you deserved it. Also i had a chance to talk to the class about my intern which happened two weeks ago and i got a good feed back from my class about my presentation and my experience. We also did a IMPROVISE which means you are given a subject or a line to talk about and it must for 5 minutes and it was exciting to see what our class had to say about what they had to talk about some were good and then there were some really good ones like juniors, nice one Junior keep it up. Now we are going to be doing radio now and it will be live on 107.3FM so if people are interested to listen, tune in and let me know what you think.
but i will keep you up to date when we do go live. On top of all of this we have got a project to do which is another TVC and this time its for a real client (DRESS FOR SUCCESS) I’m really looking for to this as i am the camera person, Luan the Director, Mihi the Production Manager, Amanda the Editor and Junior my camera assistance.
I had the opportunity to be on a film set as a intern and it was a experience i wont forget any time soon. This experience definitely open my eyes to what goes on behind the camera and there’s a lot of physical work involved, you have to know what your doing and be able to predict what the next shoot is going to be and be ready to move when the director tells you because time is money and you cant have someone who don’t know anything being in the way. One thing i felt that i needed to learn the most was the name of some of the equipments that we used, this was important as i was asked a few time to get a certain equipment but i didn’t know what it was but that’s alright because it takes time to learn the names of certain equipment but once you do know them it becomes easier. I’ve learned a lot from my 4 days on set with some very experience and skilled people and you know what i do it all over again. So bring it!!

This is my complete TELEVISION COMMERCIAL. My TVC was fun to edit and i enjoyed filming it too but there’s one thing iv learnt from filming and editing this TVC and that is you can never have enough shots. So i hope you enjoy my TVC.
two days ago we had a lesson on editing and how to use AVID MEDIA COMPOSER 5.0 which is one of the program you can buy if your serious about editing, well any way this lesson definitely open my eyes to what possibility you can do on this program but we had to start of with the basics which is totally fine with me, but you know me i couldn’t wait to get started on the editing side of it, i just wanted to find out what my TVC would look like after iv done editing, it was just exciting just to learn about editing and i can tell you now i want more.. you can never get enough of a good thing.
Today i was helping Amanda finish of her TVC which she hadn’t finished yesterday again i had to dress up like a office guy which i didn’t mind cause there wasn’t much shooting with me in it so that was good.. after lunch we had to shot Juniors TVC which was ok but some of the class mates were a little uneasy about his TVC as it required some close dancing. he had luan as his main actor and Mihi and Amanda were his supporting actress. i have to say junior you did a good job in been the director and the D.P… keep it up junior its only a taste of more to come..
yesterday i helped some of the class mates with filming of there Commercial and it was Amanda’s turn to do her TVC she did really well with her communication and where she wanted her shots. i was her main actor with luan and jnr been the supporting actors, her TVC was about having a comfy chair in the office which was cool, i find it for myself it was a little hard cause i felt that acting wasn’t my thing, i would rather be behind a camera any day then be a actor but i wouldn’t say that i wouldn’t do it again for the team tho.. but thank you Amanda for the chance to be in your TVC.
